Composition is the placement of visual elements or ingredients in a work of art, as distinct from the subject of a work. Composition, among other things, consists of the use of straight and curved lines.
Straight lines can add affection and make a composition more challenging detailed. More subtle lines can be used to influence the direction of the viewer’s gaze, intentionally or not.
Curved lines are generally created to present a sense of flow through the image. They can be associated to soft things and be more aesthetically pleasing than straight lines.
Within my background image that I will place my subject into, I plan on using a curved road that flows from the corner of the subjects computer screen. I think the use of a pedestrian crossing part way down the road could break up the flow signifying the barrier between the subjects virtual world and their real world.
